Are your goals logical?
If your
goals are logical, don’t expect luck or the like. Why? Luck doesn’t exist!
“You need to
aim beyond what you are capable of. You need to develop a complete disregard
for where your abilities end. If you think you’re unable to work for the best
company in its sphere, make that your aim. If you think you’re unable to be on
the cover of TIME magazine, make it your business to be there. Make your
vision of where you want to be a reality. Nothing is impossible.” —Paul Arden
Paul Arden
made an incredible statement above. Many will possibly read it and think that
is a good statement and go on to something else and not think anything more
about it.
Let’s break
it down and see what we can glean from it. It is something that will not only cause
you to have a positive thought, but, encourage you to make a move in a positive
direction.
Now let’s
begin the breakdown in the statement:
1. You
need to aim beyond what you are capable of.
As you know,
so many of us aim far below what we are capable of. We take the easy way out. I
want you to consider aiming higher than you have ever considered before. We
have dreams we wish to fulfill, but are tempted to lay them aside when the work
that is required seems a little more difficult and involved than we want to put
into it. As a result, we quit and decide it isn’t worth it. Aim beyond what you
are capable of. You will surprise yourself!
2. You
need to develop a complete disregard for where your abilities end.
Why not
consider jumping headlong into something that has been on your mind to
accomplish, even though you don’t know what the end result will be. Don’t worry
if it will not end the way you hope. Give it a try, if it doesn’t work the way
you had hoped, examine what didn’t go exactly right, make necessary adjustments
and try it again. You will discover the more you try, you will progress further
and further to actually reaching the desired end.
3. If you
think you’re unable to work for the best company in its sphere, make that your
aim.
Simply do
whatever it takes to work with that company, organization, church or ministry,
whoever it is that you are considering. Learn all of the aspects of what the
company is looking for. Take a course, study the aspects of the job that you are
desiring to attain. Learn the steps required and start putting them into
practice. When the door opens for that job, you will be ready to jump right in.
4. If you
think you’re unable to be on the cover of TIME magazine, make it your
business to be there.
Maybe your
desire isn’t to be on the cover of a magazine. Possibly you want to accomplish
something great in another area, but you don’t have the connections to get
there. The desire is there and will not leave you. Find a way to meet with
someone who is already successful in the area you wish to get into and learn
from them. Consider buying their lunch and have a pad and pen at the ready to
take notes. Ask questions when you don’t understand a particular point. When
you arrive to the place you desire to reach, be sure to give credit to the
person who helped you get there. Simply put, it was their wisdom and guidance
that helped you get there.
5. Make
your vision of where you want to be a reality. Nothing is impossible.”
The ONLY way
is to first, make your vision plain. That sounds familiar doesn’t it? You must
be definite with where you desire to go first. You must do the necessary work
to get there. The key word is WORK! Keep the vision of where you want to be in
front of you and work on it! If God put the desire in you to be there, wherever
“there” is, you will arrive there. Don’t forget that you must do your part.
Now, most
people’s goals are completely logical. They don’t require much imagination. Don’t
let that be you! They certainly don’t require faith or miracles. You, yes YOU,
be the one who doesn’t have logical goals. Think and then act on the big goals.
Go above what you think is possible. You can do it!
